Yeah, true crime seems more interested in the crimes than the investigation. Not always, and how they get caught is definitely covered, but a lot of focus on the criminals and their acts. More monster stories than mysteries.

The whole response and alarmism about crime is based on 1980s crime. It hasn't evolved. Trump since the 80s has been pushing for an aggressive response to 80s crime, and it doesn't matter if the world changed - Trump's taste for busting heads remains the same

White people's fear of carjacking is way or of proportion to the actual risk. In my lifetime, the two most famous "victims" were lying to hide their complicity in murder. (They assumed it would work, because they believed it was the kind of crime that happens every day.)

I put River on my watch list months before watching, and it stayed there, because I saw the title, remembered adding it, but not knowing why, and guessing it was some kind of family drama. Maybe like an Ozu film. I saw the Beyond... title and tried it within days

In the end, we have to assume there is a rationale, and the most obvious one is to virtually raise a sales tax. Some conservatives have, for as long as I can remember, proposed replacing income tax with a national sales tax. Tarriffs are a backdoor national sales tax.

I was confused, because there is no "Browse" on iPad. It is called "Search" there. The iPhone version has no text displayed, but the icon is the magnifying lens which usually means "Search," not "Browse."

Any actual decision-makers? This is called "nut-picking," because both sides have extreme and even insane members, but on one side, the nuts are running the show. And disliking the ad is different from wanting to cancel the ad's star. I dislike it. I'd boycott the company, but I'm not a customer

There's a vague notion here that the media doesn't make a choice on what outrage to promote. They definitely do. There is a significant branch of media which only reports the latest fake conservative outrage. This is not because Dems are bad at it and Reps good.

I think everyone should be talking about lot more about how it’s clear the Epstein stuff is a palace coup with JD Vance trying to take over and how Trump had better be careful because they’re trying to fool him. This message should get to him a lot.

The thing is, in the last administration, he had some relatively normal people who would say, "Nt gonna do that," but the freaks there now were chosen because they'll act on every whim he has.

I wasn't a kid, I was an undergrad in a convenience store (Store 24 on Elm St, New Haven) when I heard the radio. I asked the cashier whether it was the flight with the school teacher, and he nodded sadly.

I've only ever seen her do that in response to attacks accusing her of carrying water for Garland/Trump/etc. But I haven't seen all her exchanges. This, on the other hand, is arguing that she is not an expert because of a degree somewhere else. An attempt at an argument, which is an ad hominem.
