For a purportedly smart guy, he fails to understand that a quicker, more efficient way of maintaining control is to take away the reasons for the black/brown mass migration. But foreign aid for those countries isn’t popular among his group. Instead he wants to get in a baby making race.

As a young man, I’d been a reporter after finishing journalism school. I had about 15 months of weekly community tabloid newspapers I worked for. My name was on the masthead but most of my work was uncredited. I skimmed through them for half an hour, felt the feels and pitched the lot.
Mementoes of travel, life events or other supposedly important things were a little tougher; more categories of potential value. Does it mean anything to me anymore? Could it mean anything to someone else? Is it useful?
Some of it was easy: back in the day, places that developed film would talk you into getting doubles or triples of your prints. If you didn’t give them to the interested parties immediately they tended to hang around like baseball card duplicates that you imagined ‘might’ be valuable some day.
Long post made a little shorter: I chucked a lot of stuff. Letters and mementos and photographs from 30 and 40 years ago. I’m filled with a sense of accomplishment and remorse at the same time.
Turns out I (okay, we) were hoarders but like one of those people who turns out to be an alcoholic but you’d never would have guessed. We just covered it up by packaging it nicely.
The last month has been a slow but continuous reevaluation of all those things we’ve acquired over 30 years in detached houses. Forcing ourselves to open and examine boxes that we’ve been content to carry from one storage locker to another crawl space.
So we downsized August 1st from a 3 bedroom rancher to a 3 bedroom, fourth floor apartment. We thought we had done a good job of paring down. We had not.
Just bought some toothpaste with the ‘clean mint’ flavour which suggests the existence of a dirty mint flavour. Expiry date indicates after June of 2027 I may find out about that.
