The thing is my publishing contract spells out everything as far as percentages from media deals that go back to them no matter who registers the copyright and my contract didn’t leave it up to them. I usually register once I have a finished manuscript. 1/2
My publisher only registered the copyright for the murder book after TV producers started bugging them about it but I’d already sent a registration. That should be confusing. And kids, always register your own copyrights.

The later years were disappointing but I try not to hold that against him too much. His rightward shift makes me reexamine my own nostalgia and nostalgia in general. He was so good and will always be an influence.

Rereading Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles was a big influence on The Murders Made Us. It showed me that you could take all these shorter stories and weave them into a larger narrative. Ray is the best.
