It is safe and easy to pull up as it is an annual. I am sure I read somewhere that it is the tallest annual plant found in the British Isles. Probably the most important thing is to start at the headwaters of the stream/river and work downstream otherwise you just get a fresh dose of seeds each year

That is a very good point. I pay my corporation tax, VAT etc. but many of my competitors still get paid in cash and are effectively out of the tax system. I am consequently put at a competitive disadvantage for doing the right thing.
