I don't want to be seen as an ALP apologist, but as I understand it the government/minister doesn't have the power to arbitrarily approve or deny these things, they only have the power to ensure they meet current legislative requirements. Those laws have to change.
I think we're having a different conversation. I'm not trying to prescribe what people can or can't do. I'm just sharing observations. There are, for example, priests who are atheists and access charitable support groups, but have no other career options. That's not cultural.
