Totally. I used to work in a children's bookshop and I was a school librarian, and that's when I was trying to write a (terrible, terrible) MG novel. But I started writing PBs when I had my daughter 3 years ago. It started with little poems I wrote for her and just grew from there. #kidlitchat

If you’re making kidlit, never underestimate a child’s intellect. Kids can handle weighty topics and philosophical ideas. The trick is figuring out how to deliver these themes in a way that engages their imaginations instead of boring them to death. It’s not easy, but it’s a fun challenge!

💯 I bet they could. I took a tech class in college and we learned that algorithms can look at your search history, purchase history, etc to predict manic episodes in bipolar people. Then companies use that data to advertise higher risk, impulsive purchases like plane tickets to Vegas. 💩 #kidlitchat

That's how it is at ours, too, but they pull ours out and just put them on a separate shelf because they take up so much room! I think it's easier for everyone. Otherwise, we hog too much space and then leave a giant gap on the shelf. #kidlitchat

My two favorite picture books I've read so far this year are "We Are Definitely Human" by X. Fang & "Pig Town Party" by Cho. Loved the art of "The New Girl" by Calin. For grown up books, I read "The Anxious Generation," which isn't anything surprising, but still worth the read. #kidlitchat
