The real story is how poorly social workers are paid. They need to be paid more for the difficult important work they do and be paid salaries that allow them to support themselves and their families. I don’t know why social workers don’t push for higher salaries and just accept low pay as the norm.

I hope so but not sure. My church never includes prayers for immigrants during Mass. I met with the Pastor who said we can’t pray for every issue and there are people in the pews who disagree with me. He did give a nice homily the following Sunday but I haven’t heard anything since sadly.
