TLDR: I'm going to start a treatment program tomorrow where I'll be de-stressing and working on improving my mental health. I'm about to head to the airport right now. I'll be gone for a couple months and I'm going to miss y'all so much! The really long version is below 👇

Howdy Blueskees, It's times like this I wish Bluesky posts weren't limited to only 300 characters, but anyways I just ended up writing out the entire post and then screenshoting it. I made a post on here a couple weeks ago about my mental health and how I wasn't doing well. These past few months have been rough and I've been dealing with a crazy amount of stress from work and everyday life, along with the usual anxiety and depression...The absolute worst trio. I initially thought I needed a little vacation but it became clear to me I needed something more effective and healing. A couple of months ago, I had a friend recommend me a treatment program they did last year and said it helped them immensely. It sounded like a great idea so I started to do some extensive research and compare the many, many treatment programs all around the country. Some of them looked like lavish resorts and some of them looked like depressing hospitals. 😂 After comparing tons of places and looking through all the reviews, I finally decided on a program that seems to have a good balance of credibility, charm and strictness. I sent them an email and they were able to schedule an assessment for me the very next day. They asked me some questions about what I'm dealing with, what my treatment goals are, my long term goals, etc. At the end of the interview/assessment they told me that the program would be great for me and that I should expect an opening within the next couple months (which disappointed me at the time cause ain't nobody got time for that). Fast-forward to a few days ago, I got a call saying that they have an opening and I can get started this week! I'm pretty excited but also very nervous. The program is going to be kind of like rehab but instead of detoxing form drugs, I'll be detoxing from stress and improving my mental health.

There is only so much that excessive amounts of coffee, benzos, dissociating and SSRIs can do for someone. Speaking of which: phones, social media, alcohol, weed, and benzos won't be permitted because they believe it hinders the recovery process (it's probably true but still 😭😭) pray for me 🙏 I'm glad I have this chance to work on my mental health. The treatment center is out of state and it's usually paid out of pocket but thank God my insurance will help cover part of my stay. I am grateful and appreciate the support and encouragement I've gotten from my friends and family. The duration of the program can be anywhere from 1 month to 3 months long. Hopefully I won't be there that long lol. Unfortunately I'm not going to have access to my phone or my Xanax while I'm there so that's going to take some getting used to. I won't be able to use Bluesky while I'm there :( Thank you to everyone that has reached out to me with words of encouragement. If any of my friends on here are planning on leaving bluesky anytime soon, please make sure you send me your other socials like discord, Instagram, etc before you go so we can keep in touch when I'm back! I officially start the program tomorrow and I'm going to be heading out to the airport in an hour. Wish me luck! I'm gonna miss y'all a lot! Hopefully by the time I'm back, bluesky will finally add the ability make longer posts, edit posts and improve the chat features some more 😂
