This book is not messing around. I discovered it the year I made a cake a month. Boyle marks the recipes in terms of complexity too so you have a sense going in of how hard it will be. It's not all showy high gloss like a lot of cookbooks but it's the real deal. (The Cake Book by Tish Boyle)
