Earlier this month, the Runner Fire burned into the McCain Vegetation Management Program (VMP) project—land that had already been treated with controlled fire during a training earlier this year. The fire’s intensity dropped as it reached that area, giving firefighters a safer & stronger advantage.

Over the weekend, CAL FIRE/Napa County Fire and the Napa Interagency Rescue Team (NIRT) carried out a complex rope rescue after a vehicle plunged 100 feet into a creek. Firefighters successfully reached the driver, extricated them, and brought them safely to the ground to go the hospital.

Another reminder of the dangers of unstable cliffs. CAL FIRE Copter 604 responded to Davenport after a person fell 30 feet. Crews landed on the beach for a rapid rescue. The patient was flown to a trauma center in stable condition. #StaySafe
