The 2020 fires were a tragic reminder of CA’s growing wildfire threat—and the need for year-round prevention. Since then, CAL FIRE has boosted staffing, upgraded to S-70i helicopters, deployed 2 C-130Hs, & expanded early detection with AI-powered cameras. (2/3) #WildfirePreparedness #ReadySetGo

We need to scale up firefighting to match climate change. We need a comprehensive plan, not a bunch of fragmented half-measures, adding on to what already does not work. Here is the answer, summed up in 4-pages. drive.google.com/file/d/1moeb...
Waking up at 1:30 in the morning to see the ridge to our west on fire was the scariest thing I've ever experienced.
This is what good government looks like. These folks at CalFire are here in our community protecting people and property on a scale that cannot be accomplished on a local scale without the assistance and cooperation of state and federal agencies.

My husband and I wanted to move out of the suburbs and into the country in our retirement years. These fires, due to climate change, has changed everything for us. 😢
Can't thank enough CalFire, local firefighters, Forest Service firefighters who saved my daughter's home in Santa Cruz Mountains (CZU) and our home at Shaver Lake (Creek Fire) while some of them lost their own. Both fires within a month if each other in 2020. They are tireless heros. Thank you all!
