Here is an easy solution to the Pulse memorial crosswalk conflict: The state of Florida has jurisdiction because the crosswalk is on State Road 527. If the Democratic mayor and city council of Orlando authorize and paint a city crosswalk 50 feet away, the state should have no enforcement authority.
They're doing more to prevent another rainbow crosswalk than they are to prevent another mass shooting like the one that inspired the rainbow crosswalk.
