Human Rights Act UK dualist legal system. International conventions and treaties must be written into UK Law to become legally implemented.It would also require a major amendment to the UK Human Rights Act, a big part of which is the ECHR, and its removal from it, leaving the Reform UK No Rights Act
I remember when the EU “debate” was not even a thing for ordinary members of the public. That was before the subversive and opaquely funded instigators of Brexit started working on them, to convince them that they lacked freedom & sovereignty because of the EU. And here we go again, with the ECHR.
It's Brexit all over again. The ignorant and gullible being lied to by those who seek to dismantle the infrastructure that protects us all so those with power can abuse our safeguards for their own power, growth and wealth.
If the ECHR, and the UK's legal implementation of it via the Human Rights Act were removed, we are left with a Supreme Court with little authority to intervene against any UK government's human rights violations. It would cause a constitutional crisis in NI because its part of the GF Agreement, too
Farage is whipping up anger against the ECHR with false claims. As The Bear brilliantly writes: “The ECHR [is] the foundation that protects you from your own government.” That's why leaving the ECHR would be a Really Bad Idea.

I fully agree with this and hope other cities do the same, but would city law enforcement officers intervene to arrest ICE agents acting unconstitutionally? It could turn very ugly. Then, there is the Supremacy Clause, which states that federal law supersedes state law.
