It depends on the parameters. I think we can trust editors to ensure it is solid journalism. I would love to ask an ICE agent how it feels to manhandle people and separate families. There is a human element.
The reporter would have to have total access which the SS would never have granted. With “total”access, reporters would have clamoured for the assignment and we would read every word.
I wouldn’t have embedded a reporter if there were unreasonable strings attached. No names, no faces, I could live with. Dictating coverage is a no go.
