Well, they also do, output quality, a lot more per query too. GPT5 is the first to have an internal router, using less for easy questions and more for harder ones. These analyses only look at GPT5 at it's max, not as it's actually used, so we will see lots of efficiency as the model is copied.

Bottom line, the kid was suicidal, the machine didn't make him that. He felt he couldn't talk to his family, and they didn't notice he was in crisis. The machine repeatedly encouraged him to get help until he circumvented, on purpose, the safeguards. The machine isn't the problem here.
