Played #KingdomDeath for 3 fights. Weird how oir team destroyed a level 2 Manhunter and Slenderman but the level 1 dung beetle knight almost total pary killed until my character knocked him into his own weapon which killed him. We lost some great survivors including JARNATHAN!!!
Had a somewhat chill weekend. Bought a frame for my autographed #Ultraman photo and a case for my playing card collection (it is not big enough). Went to Michaels because Hobby Lobby is closed sundays. Good, i didnt want to spend money there anyway.

Had an excellent game night with some friends last night. Played Uninvited Guests At A Wedding and 5-Minute Marvel. The #ForeignPolicy food truck was at our apartment, and was holding a free beer/wine social area. We had free reign of the community room Big Table! It was basically perfect.

I havent been into #Lego for decades, but the things im seeing now...the Titanic, the Eiffel Tower, the Millenium Falcon. All over 9000 pieces, multiple feet tall/long. Its so far past what i had as a kid. These are legit sculptures now.

Just paid off my Gen Con credit card. Struggle week begins now. For dinner last night i had a slice of sausage and some caesar lettuce (not a salad). Today ill be doing Popeyes 2 piece tuesday. Not super painful but as the week goes on into next (for rent money) ill really have to scrounge.

I was let go from Santa Monica Studios years ago as well and had to get a job in a 100% different industry. Now Im so far removed from the game industry i cant go back. But With that perspective I kind of saw the sands shifting with Acti and EA both getting weird with thier future projects.
When Digital art tools and CAD appeared in the industry (before most of us were really old enough), hell even MSPaint. Once something is possible on a computer, its open to be automated by a computer. Maybe blind optimism led to this shock in the industry. Its horrible, but entirely foreseen.
The cost is taking some work away from artists. Not all, as traditional art media will always be in demand. Photoshop didnt change that and neither will AI. The benefit is the drastic reduction of time it will take to solve the most horrible anti-human ailments. The one that takes our memories.
Its the same conversation. The benefit outweights the cost, in my opinion. Humans will never stop being artists, but we can eliminate genetic deseases forever.
Was told by my supervisor to work harder not smarter so that was kind of a bummer.

Kpop is a hit because it has catchy music. Its not artistic in the same way NeZha is. For example there are no catchy sing along songs in Nezha 2 that little girls and tiktokers can dance to. That will limit its cultural impact in 2025.

Josh Brolin, the most non-nerdy nerd in Showbusiness gave a great performance as one of the parents trying to solve the mystery. I appreciate the multi-POV story, its one of my favorite tropes! Then when the "plot twist" appears its just like...oh what? It was cool but pulled me out of a potential>
Julia Garner starts as the lead character and I just found her so stereotypical "meddling white woman" that I felt nothing for her excpt as a plot device. She can definitely act but this was not it. The kid who plays Alex was an exemplar of stoicism during his angle. That tortured face was great.
Finally saw #Weapons last night. Zach Cregger reminds me of some kind of mix between Jordan Peele and M. Night Shamalyan. All three have incredible debut movies that are Horror-adjacent, and later works, while still good, kind of slip up a bit. I felt that way about Weapons. Frankly its overhyped.
Yeah let me just cup these up a bit...
#TheBadGuys2 was fun, but it felt like the voice dubbing was slightly off the whole movie. I saw a few homages that I couldnt place, but nothing to the extent of the first. The franchise is blending into itself and part 3 looks to be a MIB parody? I guess im into that. Nothing beats part 1 opening.

The fun part about being in a pro sports stadium on game day is that its like a mini-convention itself thats hyper-focused on one thing. Theres food, entertainment, a dealers hall (team store) and thousands of people exuding joy with family and friends. I still hate sports but Baseball is okay...

Its depressing to see that in a area with 8 hotels, a convention center, an art garden, a football stadium, a baseball stadium, and a dozen restaurants all connected by internal walkways, a mall situated DEAD CENTER of all of it cant stay afloat. Its gotta be shitty management. Lower the damn rent.
