I want to add more of the shorter varieties too! I love how many there are to choose from. I really focused on height when selecting plants (for privacy reasons, haha) and ended up liking the effect! I like having to wade through my plants a little bit 😆

Haha oh no! I've never had a pot lose its lip that cleanly but pretty much all of them have chipped at this point. I thought terracotta pots were supposed to be durable??
The front yard was a total blank canvas when we bought the place, which was part of the appeal. I made a veggie garden space and filled it with river rocks, then a wide border with lots of shrubs so our house had a bit more privacy from the sidewalk. Now no one can see when I’m milling about ✨
Found this photo of our front yard from right after we bought the house 3.5 years ago, compared to here our front yard looks now. It doesn’t even look like the same lot! 🌱

Love that! That’s how this stand started too- I would just put out random plants I had extras of on our curb and they were always gone within the day. People love plants!

I fill it with starts that I have extras of (I start a lot of seed so I always have extra), bouquets when I can, and then collected seeds in the fall. I love seeing my neighbors drop by and get excited about whatever I put out that day 💖

I went all in on tiger lilies of several varieties for the front yard but the one native to my region has such delicate flowers, it feels like a seeing a little fairy 🌱

They really do! I like to mill about just as the sun's going down because the roses look like they're lit up and the smell is so heavenly. My neighbors comment on how I'm always out there, hahaha

The last rose in the previous skeet is one that came with the house and, like all roses that came with this house, was in terrible condition. Out of control black spot and a root stock that kept trying to take over. I’ve been working hard on it and it’s finally looking strong!
Roses are almost completely in full bloom here, with the exception of a couple shrubs. I have yellow/hot colored roses out front and they’re becoming a neighborhood attraction ✨

Self-sown sweet peas. The ones I planted this year have a way to go before they bloom, but these ones are a nice early surprise 🌱
It’s rose season over here and the garden smells amazing. I think my favorite flower right now are the foxgloves tho- you can’t beat that whimsy! 🌱
Right?? I’m out there grabbing slugs out of my lettuces and throwing them on to the sidewalk for the birds to devour, blasting aphids off my lilies with the hose. There is no peace!

When we moved in 3 years ago this garden was completely bare, except a few rose bushes in really bad shape. I’m really pleased with the progress but it’s got a ways to go yet!
Some rogue stole my little free plant stand (the stand! The whole stand!!) but at least my backyard border is coming along 🌱

I love it so much! It’s actually my late MiL’s shrub, dug up and mailed to us by their neighbor from Long Island. I’m not sure what variety it is exactly but my guess is Jubilee Celebration 🤔
May means the start of the summer bloomers around here 🌱 our backyard is mostly white in the spring but as the summer flowers come in the palette changes to pastel pinks and purples 💖🌸💖

I’m using twine for now- I have screws going up at 1” intervals to tie the twine to, and since these are for peas I think it’ll be fine. I might have to switch to wire if I use it for anything heavier, like cucumbers.
