Only game I can think of off the top of my head that takes any significant thematic or mechanical influence from Xenoblade is Clair Obscur, that game is absolutely a grab bag of influences crafted into something really unique and fresh, so maybe that’s unsurprising.
Yes and no. Compared with Xenosaga at least, yeah they’re massively popular, and they probably have sold better than Xenogears, but in terms of the actual level of influence and enthusiasm I think they’re still comparatively niche, if that makes sense?
Fair enough, Xenogears was a bit of lightning in a bottle. I don’t really get down with Xenosaga, but Xenoblade is slept on IMO.
