Keep in mind running to foreign currencies probably isn't going to help as much as one would hope. International trade is tied to the dollar and everyone is going to eat shit on this to some extent. Again, focus on real goods, real economy, even in foreign funds.
CitizenPhnix (@citizenphnix.bsky.social) reply parent
You want equities with significant pricing power that are involved in the production of real goods. KMB and Dow Chemical have been good. Mining companies (not just gold, but copper). I'd avoid oil and gas (because Trump will fuck with it to try and keep prices low, high public salience).
CitizenPhnix (@citizenphnix.bsky.social) reply parent
Probably the actual right answer. You might see things spike in nominal terms, but everything is getting crushed in real terms.

CitizenPhnix (@citizenphnix.bsky.social) reply parent
The fact that this keeps getting shared probably means I need to come up with a less snarky description. As for the discussion, I was pretty sure that like 90% of these were bot accounts when I started this list. I'm sure I caught a few strays, but I intended to automate their detection eventually.

CitizenPhnix (@citizenphnix.bsky.social) reply parent
The metaphor of slop at least makes sense to me. Pigs at a trough eating slop to make meat. Humans in a content mill to make engagement metrics. Though I agree with the general idea that co-op games are not instant slop, I see how they are increasingly made for content generation on YT/Twitch.
CitizenPhnix (@citizenphnix.bsky.social) reply parent
I mostly saw it show up first with Twitch streamers, but I think it comes from an understanding of "AI slop" and ends up generalized. It's a vibe looking for a definition for a long time, like the Elsagate/Spiderman content. Created for and by the algorithm, with humans harvested for engagement.
