Where are the brilliant legal minds ready to take on gerrymandering and strike it down? Imagine a Congress that truly represents the majority of Americans — not maps rigged to silence them. Think of what we could achieve with real majority rule: Why isn't this a priority?
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
REDMAP isn’t old news — it’s happening right now. Texas just redrew maps mid-decade. Florida’s court upheld maps that cut Black representation. North Carolina flipped its own ruling to bless extreme gerrymanders. This is minority rule by design— and the courts are protecting it. Ban gerrymandering.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
This fight isn’t between us, the voters. It’s between politicians who work for us — and too many are failing the job the Constitution gave them. Gerrymandering guarantees division and distrust. The simpler fix is to ban it. Under fair maps, the middle class earns 7–9% more.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Exposure helps, but it’s a bucket with a hole. Clarence Thomas was exposed and nothing changed — because the structure still rewards corruption. Until we restore majority rule, disclosure alone won’t stop oligarchs. Fix the maps, and the money loses its power.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
True — decades of attacks, Citizens United, even Russia’s help. All of it shows the same thing: they couldn’t win on majority rule, so they rigged the system. That’s why we must ban gerrymandering.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
And we are paying the price. They cheated us — Republicans and their billionaire oligarchs. Citizens United funded REDMAP right after our first Black president. Too much democracy for them, so they stole majority rule. Ban gerrymandering, and you solve so many problems.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Strong labor protections depend on a strong democracy. Workers can’t win fair wages or benefits when gerrymandered maps silence their votes. Join the fight to ban gerrymandering — restore majority rule, and labor wins too. #LaborDay #BanGerrymandering
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
True — Democrats did try with H.R.1, and Republicans blocked it. But even that bill couldn’t overturn Citizens United — only a constitutional amendment or a future Court can. That’s why banning gerrymandering matters: it takes away the payoff for billionaire money until we fix the root.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Also, banning gerrymandering takes the sting out of Citizens United. We still need to get money out of politics and replace it with real merit and representation. Gerrymandering is root to so many problems. Ban it...get the word out.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Exactly. Citizens United only worked because gerrymandered maps made the money pay off. Without rigged districts, the majority still wins. Ban gerrymandering, restore majority rule — that’s the real Labor Day fight for working people.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Senator @CoryBooker, workers can’t win fair wages or healthcare when their votes are silenced. Project REDMAP rigged the maps in 2010. To honor labor, we must restore majority rule. Ban gerrymandering.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Ever wonder why nothing changes, even when 70% of us agree? This notice explains why — and how to fix it.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
The city's mayor has sighed an executive order against the use of military forces on his streets. No restraining order has been filed in Chicago to block Trump. Like in California, Trump will have to deploy troops, before they can ask the courts for a restraining order.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Ban gerrymandering. Restore majority rule. With fair maps, we’d know if America truly wanted a dictator. With rigged maps, we can’t tell.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
The Constitution gives no explicit authority”? No — it gives none at all. That one word makes authoritarian overreach sound debatable. Hedging like this is complicity. If your paper can’t defend democracy, cancel your subscription.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump threatened a military invasion of Chicago. Courts haven’t ruled here yet, but California already saw one deployment blocked as unconstitutional. Pritzker and Johnson are standing firm — this is the line in the sand.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Nothing can stop what is coming”? Yes it can: ban gerrymandering. It killed majority rule — the promise of the Constitution. Nothing can stop the people, unless that’s what they truly want. Today, with gerrymandering, we can’t tell.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Emma’s right — pathocracy feeds on cruelty. Citizens United unleashed money, but gerrymandering turned it into minority rule. Without rigged maps, the majority would still decide. And here’s the twist: with fair maps, if America chose dictatorship, we’d know. Today, we can’t tell.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
At the crossroads, Americans still possess the tools of self-government. Whether they keep a republic or rehearse one depends not on a single election, but on whether they choose rules over rulers—maps drawn for people, laws applied without favor, and courage to lose without breaking the game.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Democrats are strong on parody and standing firm. But we need an offense — and the best offense is banning gerrymandering. Hold Trump back, yes. But push forward too. If the majority of Americans want a dictator, fair maps will show it — not rigged ones.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Thanks to all fixing democracy. Citizens United was 22 when it got unlimited spending rights—yet a 17-yr-old can’t vote. Without gerrymandering, it wouldn’t have mattered. Money + maps broke majority rule. Ban gerrymandering.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Abbott knows this map isn’t fair. In Iowa—a GOP-majority state—fair maps give the middle class 52% of income. In Texas it’s only 46%. That 6-point gap proves fair maps make life better. Texas deserves the same. #BanGerrymandering
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
We'll need our Nuremberg when this is over.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
All that time...What was Garland doing? Biden's biggest snafu, appointment of Merrick Garland.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
In Iowa, Republicans win under fair maps. In Texas, they only win by rigging them. Ban gerrymandering. Let the people decide.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s not about Secret Service perks — it’s about accountability. Someday, like Nuremberg, there will have to be a reckoning for the damage, the lies, and the betrayal of democracy. History demands justice, and the costs we’ve borne as a nation can’t just be walked away from.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
The Epstein saga shows the human side of a deeper truth: too much money corrupts. Wealth without limits doesn’t just buy influence — it erodes morality, distorts justice, and leaves ordinary people paying the price.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Come on Mike — can’t you stand on your merits? One-third of Louisiana is Black, yet maps gave them only one district. Without gerrymandering, you might not even have a seat. Europe banned it. America should too.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Did Citizens United make sense without gerrymandering? Or were they two halves of the same scheme?
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
There is a real simple fix...ban gerrymandering. if we ban gerrymandering, the state now gerrymandered will return to majority rule, instead of minority rule and the majority of us want something done. Ban gerrymandering. Just that simple.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Ban gerrymandering and most of our problems disappear. Without it, Citizens United would never have mattered. Wealthy Republican donors hijacked our system — stole a judge, majority rule, and the consent of the governed after the first Black president was elected. Democracy means sharing power.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
After Obama, they decided democracy was too risky. Citizens United and REDMAP weren’t accidents — they were the plan.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Texas vs. California — Madness of Maps Hospitals close. Schools struggle. But states waste millions fighting over maps. Europe banned this madness. Why haven’t we?
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social)
Guardrails — 2020 vs 2026 The guardrails bent once. They’re weaker now. Next time they may break. Ban gerrymandering. Restore majority rule.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Chip Roy talks about “free enterprise” while ignoring the truth: the system isn’t free when the maps are rigged. In 2010 Republicans launched REDMAP, stealing majority rule and silencing voters. That’s why wealth keeps flowing to the top while the middle class gets crumbs. Ban gerrymandering.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
If we lose in 2026, Social Security as we know it is gone before 2028. If this is war, the battlefield is gerrymandering. Ban it. It’s unconstitutional. Europe banned it years ago. Why haven’t we — the so-called most advanced democracy in the world? Really?
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
More dead children. More cries for reform ignored. Why? It was REDMAP. In 2010 Republicans rigged maps to steal majority rule — silencing voters. That’s why, shooting after shooting, nothing changes. REDMAP stole the Constitution's promise of majority rule. You want change? Ban gerrymandering.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
We know the horror of gun violence. But the reason nothing changes isn’t a lack of outrage — it’s REDMAP. In 2010 Republicans rigged maps, stole majority rule, and silenced the voters who demand reform. Ban gerrymandering — that’s the real fix.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Obama’s right: this is a dangerous. Strongmen tear down guardrails to centralize power. REDMAP opened that door — rigging maps so leaders no longer fear voters. They ignore us, and even turn the machinery of government against us. Ban gerrymandering. Restore majority rule, before 2026.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Dark money from Citizens United funded REDMAP — an organized effort to undermine the Constitution’s promise of majority rule. Gerrymandering robbed the middle class of its voice. That’s why they stopped listening. They belong to Dark Money, not us.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
These are learned behaviors...this killing of each other...you think we'll ever grow out of it?

AOC, in 2010 Republicans launched REDMAP — rigging maps to steal majority rule and silence the middle class, leaving us crumbs. How is this not a violation of the Constitution? Europe banned gerrymandering and restored majority rule. Why haven’t we? REDMAP was thief from the people who pay the bills
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
A congresswoman blocked from oversight isn’t just secrecy — it’s the legacy of REDMAP. In 2010 Republicans rigged maps to steal majority rule. That rigging let them ignore voters, dodge accountability, and now even shut out Congress itself. Ban gerrymandering. End REDMAP. Restore majority rule.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
I do now...thanks for sharing.

In 2010 Republicans gerrymandered maps to steal majority rule, silencing voters who would demand fair wages, affordable care, and hospitals that stay open. Called REDMAP its design stole majority rule. Ban gerrymandering, and the middle class gets its voice back. Europe banned it, so should we.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Not there yet. November 2026 will make or break us — that’s the battleground. Win, and the authoritarian push ends. Lose, and it’s sealed for decades. Don’t forget: REDMAP did this. Ban gerrymandering. Return majority rule to the middle class.

The strongman playbook: rig the maps, tear down guardrails, silence critics, and centralize power. Looks chaotic, but it’s the plan. We are witnesses to history, which I'm not real happy about, but it is what it is. 2026 is the crossroad, which way will we go?
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, it’s true. Postal services in dozens of countries — from Europe to Asia to Mexico — have stopped shipping to the U.S. because of Trump’s tariffs. That’s how badly his trade war is backfiring on ordinary Americans.

What made the 1% richer also stole the middle class’s voice: REDMAP. In 2010 Republicans rigged maps, locked in power, and silenced voters. Ban gerrymandering, give the people back their voice.
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
Europe banned gerrymandering years ago. They knew majority rule only works when politicians can’t rig the maps. We didn’t. But, gerrymandering is the key to everything, the root of our broken politics. Everyone knows it’s a betrayal of democracy. So why haven’t we fixed it?
Ron Roberts (@civicswithron.bsky.social) reply parent
