After the flood in Texas last week, I looked up my own town’s emergency alert system. To offer health insurance to 35 employees at the small business I work for is equivalent to 1.5x an additional payroll a month. There would either have to be a major layoff or the company would go under in less than 6 months. Not even the owner has job-provided healthcare. We all rely on ACA plans.

As for school vouchers (in FL), I thought they may level the playing field for low-income homeschoolers, but I’ve since discovered that the funds are being wildly mismanaged by individual families and not used for education. There needs to be a stricter protocol if this funding remains.

My husband did the strict carnivore thing last year for several months. He lost almost 40 pounds, but at his annual his doctor told him he was taking years off his life from the toll it was taking on his cardiovascular health. So he stopped &gained the weight back, but his bloodwork is perfect now!😅
