It’s an option. You just pay the bill yourself. If your insurance is that bad and you pay too much into it opt out. Sorry you’re not well. Chronic conditions are the worst for so many reasons.
If the hospital is participating they should be doing that for you. They need to bill your insurance correctly. It’s in their participation contract.
Or you could choose not to participate at all.
