I no longer give any take home exams. All work happens in the classroom. They hate it. Tough shit. I’m tired of reading stuff that makes no sense. This all comes from grades being more important than actually learning something. They’d rather get an A and learn nothing than take a hard-earned C.
I have to think that federal funding for research prevented a lot of brain drain from red states to blue states. If you’re a scientist in Florida etc., why stay now?
