Hit day 36 in a row. Thought I was keeping up with the Hiragana, but apparently not. Wants me to do another 15 or so lessons on that. Now down to 8. I could just move forward, but my completionist brain.

29 days in a row now. As I go through my vocab, I'm just now realizing how many words I have an incomplete understanding of. I suppose it's the emphasis on communicating verbally. Many words where I would expect a wa character (わ), I'm seeing the particle character (は).

We are living out the movie The Wave. Our 2 party system has made people more concerned with their team and winning "the game" than actual human life. The fascists are winning because they are willing to cheat--and proud of it.

Day 17. Still working at it every day. Pretty good grasp of the basic Hiragana characters, at least with flash cards --the rs are kind of making me angry--. Not as much progress as I'd like with Japanese for Busy People, but I pick at it still

You're welcome

Day 11. Kept my Duolingo steak going. Started using Anki for Hiragana learning; still using Duolingo character training, as well. For some more "proper", structural, learning I got a copy of Japanese for busy people from the library (revised 3rd edition).

7 days, 2 units done --in addition to Hiragana work--. Feels like I'm retaining info. Some of the longer audio bits are still scary. I also found a YouTube channel I think I'll use for supplemental work, like reading and writing

Everytime I see Sailor Moon, I'm reminded of the time my friends and I tried the TTRPG system. The GM brought in a Tuxedo Mask style NPC. Before he could get a full intro, one of the players just started calling him Thong Bowtie. The name stuck

Having moved on to new words, and starting characters, my brain is fried. I am happy to see that the Hiragana progression is kind of related to the chapters and the new chapters keep bringing up old words

So, the Duolingo panel is kind of an emotional rollercoaster over the course of the day. Love that. Realizing I might need to up to an hour a day.

True, but to convict would require proof of intent, which is very difficult. However, this law would allow people to accuse others they don't like who happen to be wearing a mask. Even if it can't be proven, this could be crippling to the accused. I personally see little upside and a lot of downside
CrazyTastic (@crazytastic.bsky.social) reply parent
So, I just read this thing. Just seems like something a bigot would use to accuse someone else of a crime or use to justify violence. There is basically zero up side to this law and a whole lot of potential downside. Glad I have Mondays off to make some calls
