I think a 2x2 grid is perfectly fine for a 16:9 monitor, but I really do prefer a 3x2 grid (3 wide, 2 tall) for my Ultrawide monitor. Use my Ultrawide as a "command station" get have a view on everything at once normally
Without installing a different Desktop Environment, is there any way to adjust tiling/window snap positions on Linux Mint's Cinnamon Desktop? There's the gTile extension, but somebody commented that it is broken, & I'm either experiencing that or unable to figure it out. Wanting to do a 3x2 layout.

Shared somebody else's thread of also seeing that Beakr is an AI chatbot. & It does seem that the bot generates text for the Charity description. @tiltify.com should get rid of this, or at the very least they should allow us the option to use the old flow. >:c
Hey why does Tiltify have a forced AI generation thing and why can't I turn it off? I'm trying organize stuff for a charity relay race in early November and its asking me to enter a prompt. I just used the site back in July for the Pride Event and it didn't have this. Hate it here.

Yea ;-; I don't know if displayport is working or not, but I would assume not as both of the HDMIs are not working on the display. So something after input select & before the panel itself

With my Linux desktop, yup. I also couldn't connect it to my proxmox host (see other thread), but I could connect it to my MiSTer & launch into SNES. However, even with that, I STILL had the screen blank 2 or 3 times in a ~5 minute play session. Not great :s

It's this type of issue. Happens both on my desktop (in several distros) & on my laptop CW: slow flashing lights) (Alt text: both monitors flickering on & off. The bottom monitor displays on image briefly, which the top monitor only flashes a single red line, then blanks out again)

Was able to get the "critical" VM to start, but it had some bad blocks, so have fsck (filesystem check) running on it now... I think it is making progress, but it is hard to tell as the lines are flying past the screen. Been going for a couple minutes though...
Just plugged it into my Linux laptop (Old laptop, ~ 10 years old, so definitely not HDMI 2.1) & having the same flickering issue there. I think it's safe to say this monitor is kaput

Now we are trying to move to Linux. Introducing some instability. Issue once again. It's not a dual monitor issue. It is a just-that-monitor issue. (Single monitor doesn't work with it, but dual monitor works with other displays) Swapping out HDMI cable didn't work either. (3/4)
We ended up getting it stable enough (in Windows) & moved on. (By disabling HDCP) Then I did the "in house move" where I moved my monitor setup from one room to another. Had to futs about with stuff again. Something worked & it became stable again. We moved on. (2/4)
Okay, here's what I think happened here. I think my monitor is dead. After I moved from the apartment to the house, i would have all of these intermittent display issues. I also changed some other variables such as getting new cables, so I blamed it on that. (1/4)
My proxmox is fucked! Again! pve/data filled up somehow. I really need to get some disk alerts going so I get notified of these types of things

Most of the Arch forks can be reached from just editing Arch a bit. From what i saw, it was supposed to have tuned kernels (which i did see a kernel selection menu) to help get better perf. However, the package install menu is just awful compared to Pamac (which is itself committing Arch sins)
Grabbed CachyOS. Seems neat for an intermediate user, but not good for a beginner user. Boots RIDICULOUSLY fast. Legit the fastest linux boot time I've seen that's not Puppy Linux (or equivalent) on modern hardware. Have a couple other options I want to poke at still

Considering i cannot launch into PEAK anymore, & things are becoming more unstable as i try to fix it, I'm considering Distro Hopping at this point. Which is a bit disappointing as I have been living with Mint on my laptop for ~ 6 months & was really really happy with it. :s
Gotta be honest. Linux Mint was rock solid stable on my Laptop. The only thing that doesn't work is the Fingerprint sensor (which fprintd doesn't have support, so i'll give it a pass) This experience has been really bleh on my desktop so far.
Sat here working on typing in the next post, & the displays synced now. Super weird, touched nothing & it is working again.
Extra huh. I went into Big Picture mode (just to see). It was lagging like hell. I exit out. Now BOTH monitors are having issues! Yippee!

Huh... switched from nvidia-driver-535 to nvidia-driver-580-open, & now I'm getting that issue even on the desktop π€π NVidia GPUs, am I right /hj
Just tried nvidia-driver-535, & for some reason PEAK wouldn't even launch with that version. Weird. I forgot to mention, I'm trying to run this with Vulkan (so the graphics API can be linux native), but I am also testing periodically with DirectX 12 to see if Proton Magic happens
Additional caveats: Monitor having the issues is an HDMI 2.1 monitor I am running it through an Avermedia Capture Card (specifically the GC575) I have tried a couple versions of Proton (Hotfix, Experimental, 9.0-4) Any help / suggestions are appreciated. I'll continue to dig on my end
I'm hoping this is just the most "Me" issue of all time. On Linux Mint with a 2 monitor setup, I have tried nvidia-driver-580-open, nvidia-driver-570-open, & nvidia-driver-550. In just general desktop stuff, everything is fine with all of these. However, upon launching into PEAK, my screen blanks
