If the majority of a nation wants their representatives to stop arming a genocide but those representatives refuse, it means they are not afraid to lose votes. By voting for the "lesser evil" for decades you didn't honor the right to vote so many fought for, you devalued the only currency you had.

I don't disagree with your rationale and I really don't think Talia does either. If you know Talia she's supportive of many causes that share a common goal of ending this regime. What I think you're missing is that envisioning a better world is what calls people to action in the first place.
Any movement to end this regime will require a coalition of various groups with various interests. If these movements possess a common prerequisite of ending this regime then it is counterproductive to dissuade these movements from forming. When people talk about solidarity, this is what they mean.

I don't think there's much difference when you get down to it. I think artist intent is not the final say on a work of art, and I think basing it off whether or not it is meant to invoke erotic feelings depends heavily on what is considered erotic in that society and by the person viewing it.
