Another day, another inexperienced but hopeful writer, announcing that they have ābeen offered a book dealā for Ā£20,000. Turns out that the author is being expected to PAY THIS to the publisher, not the other way round. Folks, no publisher does this.

I finally got to an ARC, only to find I was way late and the book is already published. That notwithstanding, The Rush by @bethlewis.bsky.social is a brilliant read. Set in the Klondike gold rush, the lives of three women collide & intertwine. Fantastic writing. Thanks, @viperbooks.bsky.social

for what it's worth, I've used mine once and the dentist and hygienist were both very complimentary about what a good job I'd done of it.
Other than the terrifying bit, yeah. Takes a while to get used to
I got a water flosser which is great but also mildly terrifying and not a little painful. But hopefully will alleviate some of the tutting.
right now I'm thinking about how the lovely hygienist will tut *again* about my lack of flossing. I've tried flossing, I really have.
