Ugh. I can name that tune. A friend has an art opening tonight but it’s across town and I am recovering from a sinus infection and the antibiotics are kicking my ass. (No, it’s not covid. I checked. My dr checked.)
I always have a can of salmon. Had an NYE party and the huge ham was green in the middle. I took out my canned salmon and whipped up some salmon patties and cooked them in butter and everyone thought I was a genius. Salmon patties are bomb!

Immediately seeing if she sells the pattern and could I size it up for my dog and wondering if I could get my dog to wear it long enough for a picture or would he immediately eat it. (Dog tax)

Also, the Midwest has surprisingly good “Mexican” food because of all of the slaughterhouse workers.
People have no idea how gerrymandered everything is. I am so tired of people acting like I am some anomaly (and to be clear it has always been this way - like 25 years ago people would be amazed that I don’t have some TV show drawl.).
I knew someone who thought that. Emphasis on “knew”. Three years of acupuncture and supplements and she died. I felt bad for her husband, but so pissed at her.
I’m always glad I live in Texas because I can find the places with weird stuff on the menu. Yes ma’am, I know lengua is tongue and also it’s my fave.

Breakfast, yea. Aside from that, I feel like it’s highly dependent on the franchise. We went to one in Abilene, TX and it was inedible. They ran out of chicken breast so they subbed chicken breast strips. Apparently they soak the chicken breast strips in maple syrup. It was vile.
I liked the movie too. I was pretty young and it was good scary.

When quiche became popular in the US, there was a food review in my city and the restaurant owners were having to teach people that it wasn’t pronounced “quickie”. (So, of course, my family says “quickie” half the time because it’s hilarious.)

What the pluperfect hell did I just read?!? I not only feel stupider having read that, I am also consumed by the desire to punch the author in the face.
From personal experience, I will say that paint matching doesn’t quite get it if they don’t have a big enough sample. Having all the label info is pretty effective for matching.
Someone told me to write the paint info on the inside of a switch plate in each room. It has bailed me out.
I don’t understand people who don’t look up the weather for places they want to visit. Maybe it’s just my anxiety, but I want to know the weather and transportation and types of local food. (I don’t care so much what the answer is, I just need to know what’s up.)
I am terribly allergic to cats, and Benadryl lets me go to houses of cat owners. I am so allergic that I have to pregame with 2 Benadryl the night before my allergy shots, because the shot that has cat in it makes my arm swell up otherwise. Time to start hoarding.

Fortunately, I am a librarian and tend to over prepare for paperwork and my voter ID card counted. 🤷🏻♀️ And then I had my husband change all the bills to my name first.
I’m in Texas but when I took child to get her license I had to bring everything on her and also everything on me since she was a minor. Including 3 bills. The woman behind the desk sighs and says that since my husband’s name is first, it doesn’t count as my bill.
We have this conversation and my husband’s favorite thing is to decide at 6pm on a Friday that somehow we will get into the place that you have reserve by Tuesday or it fills up. 😐

Also, doggie poison control is $100 for a call so we decided to see what happened with the soap.
Depends on what the something is. Current dog ate a bar of soap. Was fine. Previous dog ate a plastic razor including the blades so we went to the vet. (She got a lot of wet food and passed it - vet said it was already in her intestines so if there was no blood when she pooped she was fine.)
I don’t want to live there but would be delighted to visit and cook for you.
Counterpoint, we make our own tabasco sauce from the tabasco peppers we grow and we make refrigerator pickles out of all the other peppers. And my limes and lemons are super delicious. (Tomatoes are hit or miss and never grow eggplant.)

I loved Bridge of Spies. I am largely indifferent to Tom Hanks but Hanks was great and Rylance was outstanding. And the conversation: “aren’t you worried?” followed by “would it help” is something I still quote.
We adopted an adult dog from the pound and it took a while to get us all on the same page, but he was house-broken and crate trained when we got him and had turned out to be easier that a puppy. I love puppies, but man, that’s some hard work.
Our dog would eat anything left out. The nets have always worked in prior years, so their gang leader must be new. 🤣
Nah, they are just buttheads. We may try plating some fall tomatoes this week.
I’m in Texas and the squirrels stole every green tomato. We have the plants netted but this year the squirrels leveled up and chewed holes in the nets. 😑

We have an old school land line as well. Not VOIP. We have power outages from storms every now and then and man, when a tornado hit half a mile from my house a few years ago, the whole neighborhood was using that phone, because power AND cell service were out for almost a week.
My recent college grad is back living with at home while going to grad school and man, sometimes I just want to wake her up.
