I asked Google AI "What is the fastest way to resolve the angst of the human condition?" It said "there isn't one" and a bunch of other stuff. So I asked it a second and third time. On the second time it started spitting out random tiktok and YouTube vids of dubious quality.

So the expectation around media was that if something was taking longer to do, it should be better. If it cost more to make, it should be better. But these days that doesn't necessarily hold true, because of a host of changes since 1983. But psychologically people still think it should/does.
Ex2 the phrase means the same thing, but doesn't make contextual sense any more. But it used to. I am old, I was a kid when Sega and Famicom launched. The price points, dev time, product availability all made 3 month waits contextually similar to the 2 hour wait in Ex1.
