One small point on ‘pull factors’. Knowing that the U.K. has a fast, efficient and fair system for assessing asylum applications would only be a pull factor for good and genuine asylum seekers. It would be a deterrent for others.

Good morning with good news: Japan, world's 4th largest economy, cut its fossil fuel generated electricity from 73.1% in June 2018 to 54.8% in June 2025. That's 18.3 points drop or 2.6 points/year! It could be near zero FF by 2045. Gas fell from 38.1% to 27.4% Coal fell from 30% to 20% #energysky

Something that constantly irritates me along these lines is the widespread assertion that sex-segregated facilities are a matter of "privacy". Communal changing rooms are definitionally *not* private! You might feel more comfortable in a segregated than unisex one, but that doesn't make it "private"
