It’s almost like Donald Trump has no regard for the Constitution he swore an oath to uphold. Chicago is a city of immigrants and will continue to be a city that welcomes ALL!
Yet again, another Trump executive order has been struck down in federal court because it’s unconstitutional. Last week, federal judges invoked the 10th Amendment when dismissing Trump’s hateful lawsuit against sanctuary cities.

Congressional oversight is not optional, it's our authority and responsibility as members of Congress. We stood outside of the Broadview detention center for over an hour and were unlawfully denied entry. If this is how they treat us, how are they treating the individuals being detained here?

Even though these claims have been debunked, many of these posts remain up and continue to be shared widely. These individuals have intentionally politicized a tragedy without bothering to fact check the incendiary claims they were propagating.
Today, in the aftermath of the horrific attack in DC last night, many who are seeking to discredit the progressive movement in Chicago have purposely shared misinformation attempting to connect the shooter to local progressive movement spaces and elected leaders.
As a person of faith, committed to seeing a more just and peaceful world, I am mourning today over the horrific attack that caused the death of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. I condemn this act of violence and all forms of hatred, bigotry, and antisemitism in the strongest terms.
