It's not just that Cory Booker broke Strom Thurmond's record, it's *how* he did it, citing the reason Strom Thurmond held that record, and then pivoting to invoke the civil rights icon John Lewis. A perfect moment.
I like it. It’s a great symbolic gesture and he’s talking about substantive topics (unlike Cruz reading Green Eggs and Ham). I also love that this speech is rivaling Strom Thurmond’s 24 hour and 18 minute speech for the Civil Rights Act. IMHO, that holds weight. He is on pace to make US History.
