I DID make a game with a very small passionate team in 2023 (accessibility as a priority because well… I was on it) but it wouldn’t have been had i not been there. I wasn’t even ON the accessibility team, it just happened if I spotted a problem I’d alert them.
Yeah it does- as someone who isn’t a fan of most metroidvanias and really not a fan of hard platformers, that’s the only info I’ve heard- “team cherry is 3 people”. I appreciate the correction and I’m annoyed the narrative around this game isn’t sharing it.
I will say tho the next big release is FF tactics at the end of the month and that should hopefully be really accessible. The original game text size was gargantuan and as long as they let you use that font size it’s easy to read (plus added VA!)
Ah I didn’t realize it was contractors too- that certainly changes things than 3 people in a garage/studio. I personally can’t stand and won’t buy git gud games, because I know I won’t enjoy them. It sucks to be out of the convo (especially you as a CC).
*accessibility patches to be clear.
I also am willing to give a dev team of 3 (with one programmer among them) a lot more leeway on stuff like this though. Like yeah, I know people who are already working on fan patches for it including fellow albino @s1lv3r-dr4g0n.itch.io but I can at least understand it more for a team this tiny.

I think a lot of people are going to be put off by the difficulty. It was originally billed as HK DLC, and has the curve to match.

I also know MAGfest and PAX in the gaming spaces don’t allow guests to charge for autographs (MAG lets guests charge but they have to provide one free sign per person, you pay for more than that) so my guess is appearance fees are paid to the guests.
My concern comes down to the fact that these people weren’t trained on US con requirements or etiquette, or if they had guidelines weren’t consistently enforcing them. That’s on SQUEX.
Oh yeah, the person I spoke to about the cane banning was NA too, but these people are Square staff, not people who would be typically planning cons. Con planning p much requires knowledge of ADA.
That’s good to hear JP went so well, but I also wonder if they took what they learned from US to just… not do that. I’ve never been to a con in the USA that would ever ban a cane. That’s just not something you can do w/ ADA.
It took enough of us saying “ADA violation” for them to fix this. Japan in general does not understand accessibility. I lived there. I never wanted to work there after having to try and manage college as a blind person in Tokyo.
Similar issue: we were initially told no canes in the venue and any cane user needed to use a wheelchair (provided by the venue). I am blind and use a cane- what the heck am I going to do in a wheelchair. When I initially lodged a complaint I was told no canes.
There were tickets for merch so people didn’t crowd. You came back at your designated time. Like a Disney fast pass. They had some set aside for ADA. Really all the issues boiled down to unclear ADA policies that weren’t consistently enforced.

Also it’s not just a few clicks. I always spend a few hours researching a company and hand writing a tailored cover letter. You’ve shown me you won’t read it with just one image. So why should I bother?
When I see stuff like this it makes me way less interested. Company wanted a header image + also didn’t want to pay for an artist. Stock photos exist! They went out of their way to choose AI. They’re setting unreasonable expectations about the kind of work they expect from their employees.

You also don’t need to grind for it- savage just drops the gear directly instead of needing 4 tokens to trade in for the chest on normal raids.
(But seriously, I, a blind person was able to do it on content with callouts, with people in 750+ gear I think you’d skip the hardest mechanic of the fight completely- and in 7.4/7.5 with the final set of ilvl it should be pretty easy to ram through if you want the dyeable version.

That's how you can tell human authors from AI. AI will put in some em dashes, then apologise and take them out when told off. Human authors will climb the filing cabinet, hissing, and defend their right to em dashes with a loaded stapler.
