Delighted for her! Yeah, 4 hours is what my kids in 5th and 6th year are being told they should be doing, at a minimum. Very hard on kids, especially neurodivergent or with other challenges. Not a big fan of the Leaving Cert system myself but it's what we have to work with.

dóchas is grá (@dochasisgra.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm not British, not my job. I must have misunderstood your entire post then, I thought it was about "reclaiming" the Union Jack/ George which surely implied you think it's redeemable. We must be at cross purposes, I'll leave it there.
dóchas is grá (@dochasisgra.bsky.social) reply parent
Hmm, I'm not sure anything internal to the UK can be really solved without a true reckoning with the legacy of imperialism. Immigration is a direct product of Empire after all. But again, good luck.
dóchas is grá (@dochasisgra.bsky.social) reply parent
I'd love to see you rewrite that, but from outside the UK, in the majority of the world that flag's not redeemable as a symbol of anything good, and the consequences of Empire are still not in the past. Personally I think you'll need new symbols. But I do wish you luck.
