I am of the opinion that there are spam bots out there that read job listings and generate fake candidates just to fill up the inbox and make it harder for everyone to match jobs with job seekers. Why would they do this? To fuck with the US economy.
If you look at the stats on those jobs, or at least the jobs you would want to have, by the time you find them four hours after they’re posted they’ve had 120 applicants. You can’t imagine that those 120 applicants are all qualified. So they’re using AI to sift out the AI chaff.

One of the problems is that all the resumes are screened by AI and the AI are biased toward choosing resumes written by AI, many of which are full of hallucinations.
It's incredibly frustrating to know full well that I am capable and intelligent and educated and competent AND know that nobody with an open position will ever even see my applications...and then add to that the millions and millions of other people in the same boat, profoundly underemployed.
