I still have a landline in addition to my cell phone. My sister in the family home still has a rotary dial phone from 1960 that still works! My father had a phone from the 1940s. It was still working the last time I tried it in the 1990s. There's no such thing as phone “retro” in my family!
This is personally painful because the Kennedy Center was a refuge where this closeted, depressed college student in the 1970s went to see the greatest theatre, opera, and orchestral concerts all under one roof. It was an important part of coping at that time for me.
I’m so old, I did! It was at the Kennedy Center in September 1974. I was so thrilled to see Robert Preston and Bernadette Peters live that the sadness and messiness in the second act didn't phase me.
Thank you! I didn’t know she had a special on Hulu. I agree that she is absolutely hilarious, and I think she’s one of the best at improvising jokes while chatting with her audiences. The first time I saw her do it on YouTube, it reminded me of Paula Poundstone’s quick wit with an audience.

Thanks. The side effects have slowly decreased in the 7 weeks since radiation and 2 weeks since ending 6 months of chemo. If your surgery went well, it was likely better than what I've gone through. My fear was if the surgery didn't go well, the side effects can be worse and longer lasting.

That Hallmark movie is probably the only time I saw Betty in a dramatic role. It was so uncharacteristic to see her crying that it really got to me. I kept thinking about Allen Luden’s untimely death.

Back & leg pain can be sciatica. Has he had an MRI of his spine, & if so, is anything abnormal? I had extrusion of my L4/L5 disk & had debilitating sciatica in my left leg. Steroid injections near the disk & PT have given me me a great deal of relief.

Wow, the original Kurt Weill orchestrations. I almost always prefer original orchestrations from older shows because they used larger orchestras. I love the original Hans Spialek orchestrations of the Rodgers and Hart shows. You can’t duplicate his large sound pallet in a reduced score.

I think one reason T et al. try to ignore infectious diseases is because they can’t do a mobster shakedown threat to a microbe, like they do to humans. They also can’t handle the fact that they don’t have the intellect to deal with the complexities of infectious diseases. So they let people die.
