At my institution, this NIH situation is a nightmare. Some studies are up in the air and no one really knows what will happen going forward. Others, like the RECOVER Platform protocol studying long COVID, will not have funding renewed and will be shutting down. Medical research catastrophe.

Doing research at an academic medical center, we participate in a wide variety of NIH funded trials. I fear the next 4 years will set medical research back decades. The medical community has a responsibility to stand up and be vocal about this.
