Fulham fans shouldn’t worry too much about this one. The main reason Forest are beefing w Nuno is bc Nuno has the ‘wrong’ super agent (Mendes) and won’t play ball w what Maranakis and Edu want to do for *their* super agent, Joorabchian. Marco’s agent is Mendes. Edu won’t go near him. #fulhamfc

British/Euro cops (have own problems, obv) feel more like adult-serving versions of Child Protective Service bureaucrats/field officers. They aren't heroes, just people doing a job. The US and it's gun culture is a different beast, but shifting the vibe away from "bad asses" to "helpers" seems key.

I dont have a ton of faith in ESR but it’s hard for a club like FFC to have 3 first team options at one position. We kinda sorta also have TC, iwobi & Wilson at 10. we’re still struggling with needing TWO defensive mids to do what Joao used to do solo. Though lukic/Berge progress ball MUCH better.

I think the plan is that ESR is the one to make those killer passes and we're gonna sign wingers and maybe a LB. King is the AP replacement. Underrated how AP's relentless pressing in front of Mitro made playing the Serbian possible.

I'd be happy to see Nelson back at the Cottage, but it seems like Fulham wanted another loan with an option to buy based on him staying healthy. That Arsenal just wants to clear the decks now (or maybe they know Nelson isn't all the way healthy??) makes sense from their perspective.
Doug (@dougstern.bsky.social) reply parent
Sure seems like Fulham wanted a loan with an option to protect them from the injury risk that kept Nelson out of 2/3 of last season when he was on loan at FFC. Makes sense Arsenal just wants a straight sale this week so they can focus on other things.

Sterling is NOT coming at anything close to those wages. We’ve never made a loan deal that pricey. Can’t see us starting now. I think Sterling is pretty cooked (could be wrong) but his performance is irrelevant compared to what would be incredibly outsized wages. Not happening.
Doug (@dougstern.bsky.social) reply parent
Unless Sterling tears up his own contract - him coming to Fulham is impossible. Reports are that Raul makes 110k a week and is our highest earner. Sterling earns 350k per week. Even if they cover HALF his wages, that'd still have this loanee as our highest earner at nearly 2x anyone else.

But if you're giving away 10% of Intel or making it so zero full-boat paying foreign students can come to your university, this bootlicking is costing actual dollars. That CEOs are cool with cruelty to brown-skinned isn't a surprise, that they're volunteering to give their lunch money to Trump IS.
Doug (@dougstern.bsky.social) reply parent
I've been wondering as well. GOP congressman getting yelled at by their constituents, but the CEO class eagerly assisting every Trump whim. Intel chief seems to have given away 1/10 of his company today. Is this just a time-lag, and news that normal humans are unhappy will reach C-suites soon?

I'm no expert but it feels like WHU manager has an outsized say in transfer policy. When you do that AND change managers all the time, that means you're wasting $$ and windows signing dudes that the next manager won't want. Fulham has done okay w this BECAUSE Silva has made players he chose better.
