Rather than removing something loved by so many and promising to maybe bring them back in the future... how about just not removing them? #PlayStation needs to get past whatever internal systems making it impossible to change their original plan. Stop being rigid and actually listen to customers.
I know it's not much a mod, but yes you can swap the PS buttons over to the PDP BFG hall effect modules. There's just four small Phillips screws holding the back of the module on, and then just swap the entire top plate with the buttons from the original. I may put the black D-pad back on.
