So #PSN was down. The inevitable outcry against the "digital future" and supporting physical media has ensued. I love retro video games. I've been collecting for years, owning approximately 75% of the OG Xbox catalog and around 50% of the Xbox 360. I also have several hundred PS3 games. 1/n
But we need to stop. Physical media is not the future, and it's not the answer to the issue of not being able to play your digital games offline. Better license management of digital games is. Both PlayStation and Xbox have "offline play" modes. 2/n
Most of the outcry during the most recent Xbox Live outage was due to people game sharing and abusing the "home Xbox" functionality, which broke their ability to play without authenticating to Xbox Live. If there are issues on the Sony side, give them a chance to fix it. 3/3
