i think there are a lot of understandable reasons someone might not want to use bsky but "all the people i see on bsky are annoying and uncool" is a kind of confusing to me because i just look at the following tab with the people i follow whose posts appear in descending order

I’ve seen the “respecting my time” argument leveled against games like Demon’s Souls or Elden Ring where part of the challenge is in navigating dangerous environments with limited resources. I’ve seen people deploy it against Sekiro for demanding mechanical mastery

It’s so very very content-brained in the way it presumes videogames are simply Content to Consume as opposed to works of art to be experienced on their own terms. It’s the kind of thinking that results in MMOs and gacha games where a core loop involves going AFK auto-battling to grind
There’s this irritating thing in surface-level videogame critique where people overly-value the idea of a game “respecting my time”. This makes sense to criticize if it’s a live service game meant to suck up all your time and not a single-player RPG

Some of MGSDelta’s cutscenes somehow look darker and more unclear than the opening cutscene of MGSV: Ground Zeroes, which is shot from the perspective of a shaky handheld camera, takes place at night, and in the middle of a storm.

So much of WoW’s background music is just too ambient for its own good. I can hum the Stormwind or Orgrimmar or Valdrakken theme but I genuinely can’t think of any field or dungeon themes

It’s hard to see people going “it looks exactly how I imagined it did when I was a child” without wanting to say “these games were made by adults who wanted the game to look a certain way!!”
MGS3 might have had to make aesthetic decisions because of the limitations of the PS2, but those were still deliberate aesthetic decisions that were lost in the remake.
This is a problem because the original game looks like that on purpose, with cutscenes directed with the understanding that these characters faces will be fully lit. The remake did not make these considerations when they translated the cutscenes 1:1 except with redone lighting
Some of the lighting decisions are just flat out worse than the original because it makes things harder to see. Pretty much every scene in MGS3 keeps people’s faces highly visible but there are way too many shots in Delta where their faces are completely obscured by shadow
The reason why so many of MGSDelta’s cutscenes look like they’re SFM porn animations is because, like SFM porn animations, a lot of them are predominantly lit by a single harsh white light source with really defined shadows

Guild Wars 2 is honestly so fascinating in how the Humans in the setting aren’t like… the usual scrappy underdog trope humans. They’re more like High Elves— Magic kingdom, pantheon of gods that empowered them, aliens to the setting. The “new race on the scene” in GW2 are the magic fairy plant people
