My daughter's 15 year old SUV that gets ~40 mpg. My mid-size sedan (V6) gets ~20 overall. Transportation as a whole makes up less than 4% of greenhouse gas emissions. It's like blaming one brand of cola for the obesity problem in the US. Sure, it's part of the problem, but far from the worst.

Serious question - who is getting lower taxes? It's not those people who NEED every dollar just to get by. It's those that will use the tax break to buy 2nd homes (or maybe 3rd?), that fly personal jets that they can now write off. The poor who really NEED a tax break will see their tax burden rise.

Looking into this more, turns out there was adequate warning. Flood watch issued 4 days in advance. Then escalated to an evacuation warning a good 5 hours before the flood peak hit. If anyone had been listening to the weather radio at that camp, they would have had time to evacuate.
