The Seattle metro area public transit is such a disaster compared to PDX.
I'm spoiled in having the Cascade line between me and my parents. 4-5 hour trip , roughly the same as driving, and other than one craziness with suddenly pulled cars, its never been unpleasant. Flying feels like you're barely worth more than baggage.
