3 Businesses/ industry need workers, inflation hasn’t been dealt with; some funding/ tax breaks for businesses to hire workers at a living wage. Carney as an economist should have some idea of how to compensate for inflation - apart from dooming a whole generation.
2 ‘Young Canadians,’ many thousands with university degrees, ARE looking for work everywhere else, finding only part-time short-term available IF any work at all. Costs of all businesses UP, hiring DOWN or unaffordable. Graduated students looking for work for YEARS.

I had to do this in the 1960s at my schools in Albertal till grade seven. It didn;t make me a better person, more law-abiding, or anything except I got good at waiting till it was over.

As I listened to this, I kept thinking, I wonder what the effect of say, a 10% drop in oil consumption by China (which seems likely! it might be still more!) will be on the price of oil, and therefore on the Albertan economy. And China is just the leading edge of this.

People in higher education tend to ask governments difficult questions about their policies, their intentions, and to prove them often wrong.
It began with defunding humanities: removing courses from the deparment curriculum, then entire areas, say the 1000 years of medieval English literature. Then not hiring, even when my colleagues retired, died or found a better job. Eventually, merging with another deprived dept, until we're dead.
This is why those in power are working to damage, even destroy, education.
