It creates a sort of happy medium where the town is controlled as far as parking goes, however out of counters are still encouraged to visit our small town and spend their money at our businesses so long as they follow our public safety rules and don't go above 25 miles per hour
There are municipal parking lots in Somerville that do cost money to park at between certain times, but for the most part, except for on main Street, the central hub of the town, where there are parking meters. Businesses have free parking in abundance but it is limited to those businesses.
cars are fine so long as they are limited to the point where them traveling to parking lots isn't going to be a hindrance on public safety, I keep bringing it up but I will once more bring up Somerville, which has one lane going in each direction, top speed of 25 mph, and a huge walking culture
I think the only way parking should be free is if there is a low top speed within City limits and all of the high-speed roads are outside of the limits, hence what I said about Somerville again.
I've actually been trying to find a website that allows me to take a plot of land and design a city there using pre-made assets and all that shit, because I wanted to see how hard it would be to Urban develop the current plot of land that contains the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster.
I don't particularly agree with urban infilling in most cases (except for cases that are similar to Orlando, that's where I'm going to criticize Orlando because it's all sprawl), but I do believe that every County should have at least one major metropolitan area.

Even a $1 per hour parking meter is better than nothing because a lot of the time people just can't be bothered to spend that dollar on parking and would much rather not cause trouble within that City, actually Orlando traffic is next to nothing within the lake eola area.
