I don’t see how what he said was problematic, even if deceptively edited. Waning administrations have always made last-ditch efforts to protect their policies since the first Adams. The thinness of the gruel needed to whip up the GOP fake outrage machine is getting ridiculous.

When every single GOP Rep. votes for a clean CR because Trump threatened them, you will see the true power of not worrying about the presidential voting history of any particular constituency. Trump picks absolutely terrible candidates and now has all the power in his hands. Primary them all.

I know I’m screaming into the void at this point, but this is some pretty scary fucking shit right here. He’s straight-up saying he can do whatever he wants and nothing will stop him from doing it. The mere uttering of this phrase by a sitting President should trigger articles of impeachment.
Some lawyers absolutely revel in this, developing bullshit arguments while congratulating themselves on how clever they think they are. Countering those arguments is surprisingly tough, however, because the proper dismissive response to bullshit can come off as not having a substantive response.
