Bit of an overreaction. Currently the elderly are not treated or cared for well. In human hands they die from neglect, get raped, have meds and valuables stolen from them. If having some robotic med techs prevents that, I'm for it. Because we sure ain't fixing the problem as is.
Having worked in facilities, this might actually be an improvement. Less chance of human error on medications. Higher likelihood of maintaining sanitary environments. Less likely to have the elderly sexually assaulted. Lots of facilities are REALLY bad.

I still fall back on my 'player decided' best campaign. They had to survive on nature checks to scavenge and hunt for good, do of jobs and scramble for coins early on in the campaign. They LOVED having to find creative ways to make money that the system wasn't designed for.

Which means more investment into worker training. Real structural change to enable experienced workers to pass on that through mentorship and training initiatives. We will always need people, just in new and/or different ways. We aren't prepared for that part.
AI is already DEEPLY rooted into a myriad of industries and we are in danger of losing the skilled people needed to keep things going because of the resistance to AI. We still need people. We still need their experience. The landscape of work is changing and we need a society that can keep up.
