Depends. Is the doc just "accused" or indicted? Because "accused" means nothing legally.

Tariffs are the true trickle down economics. Businesses pay the tariffs to import their goods and they charge the customer more and, at the same time, raise prices to make more profit. What trickles down is cost. Not gain. Republicans are finally seeing their trickle down economy come true.

Praise the people that should be praised and blame those that should be blamed. Sure, warn that NWS staffing is dangerously low if it is. And if low staffing made coordination more challenging, then check l call that out. But be damn sure you know that to be the case. Don't blame the messenger.
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
Stop accepting the premise that NWS failed. The only thing you will do is get the forecasters that are left to quit. Who wants to work when you have to be perfect or you're blamed for killing people when it's not your fault? Praise them for their forecasts. Change the dialogue. 9/
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
Blame the GOP for denying climate change. Blame the GOP for convincing people not to take Wx warnings seriously. Blame the GOP for convincing people to not trust the gov't. But stop accepting the premise. We've been saying Wx will get more severe. Flooding has been more severe lately. 8/
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
Now, Bluesky... Stop allowing them to shift the blame to NWS and NOAA. From all accounts, they did their job. Wx prediction isn't an exact science. People were mad when Katrina shifted. People thought Sandy was more severe than predicted. That's what happens. They aren't 💯. It's a prediction. 7/
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
Flash flood warnings mean the flooding will happen near instantaneously. Not over a day. Minutes to hours. It will happen fast and unexpectedly. Think tornado watch means a tornado could form. Flash flood watch means a flash flood could form. But with a flood, you can't hide in your house. 6/
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
Second, you need to understand what you're hearing/reading. Flash flood warnings don't need it to be raining where you are. If you're in a flood zone, get out. Check the FEMA flood maps to find out or, be safe and get to high ground. Don't play around. If you're near a river, assume. 5/
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
I have no evidence of that here. What I know was that products went out and EAS was activated. But I also feel like people don't understand nor take flash flood warnings seriously. First, you have to know you can receive them: get a radio that can receive NOAA Wx Radio. 4/
William Winner (@fosojedi.bsky.social) reply parent
The coverage: NWS is not to blame. In this, I agree with the WH. From what I can see, they put out warnings and advisories. They put out forecasts. Is NWS short-staffed? Of course. OPM just put something out praising the 23k jobs they've cut. Maybe of those were senior, experienced people. 3/
