QotW: I have never played a DK game, it is a complete blind spot for me. So my only real reference is an awful looking GTA 5 mod I saw where he has the proportions of a human. I believe there was also a mod for Resi 4 which replaced the giant orge with DK sporting a massive erection. Hilarious.

Years ago I pulled over after seeing a recognisable orange box poking out of a skip (dumpster), it was a big box version of Half Life, this was accompanied by a Sega Master System and 3 loose cartridges, it all worked perfectly and I've never touched it since, which sums up retro game collecting.
@spinastudio.bsky.social just finished the Phaze Zero demo, I don't think I've seen a demo ended so perfectly. Camera composition is amazing, atmosphere is brilliant, I can't wait to play the full game - if review keys are available I will happily take one!

I always liked your ranking debate episodes, the best episode of Lasertime was arguing the greatest season of The Simpsons and though I can't find it I know you did a similar episode for the Final Fantasy series, which was great. It works better with more people, varied guests keeps it fresh.

QotW: one dead game I'd like to see get a second chance is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online, a free to play multiplayer FPS that got crushed under the weights of its contemporaries, but was genuinely good fun and well designed, with a now popular cyberpunk aesthetic.

QotW: Poorly thought out, numbers based achievements that aren't organic to the way the game is played. Get 1000 headshots with a certain gun for example, load of bollocks I ain't doing it. Also unless the game has dramatically different 3rd act, individual achievements for multiple endings, eat ass
I think it says something about me that this is my favourite part of Mass Effect 2. I've not played it since release, I never liked it as much as the first, still don't - it's no longer an RPG, crap combat. But I want to finally finish 3 and I can't not take a character through from start to finish.

Side thought, the PlayStation 3 really doesn't get enough credit for all of the innovations it tried, it had remote streaming which worked surprisingly well. It also had that odd built in voice modulator for online chat, so you could sound high pitch like the racoon from Chris's porch. Take it easy.
Prequals are pointless unless they do something different, so my choice is Dead Space Extraction. It's the last good light gun game I can think of. Also, while they looked dumb, the PS3 move controllers work really well. Time Crisis: Razing Storm is still worth getting if you have the working gear.
It's the only thing those Alien prequals actually made sense of, Fassbender's character despised Guy Pearce because he thought himself as superior to his creator, so he enjoyed his demise knowing he would get to be the prominent species. Then a load of bollocks about regurgitating Alien eggs. Shite.
