The rescue does make sure spay/neuter & Rabies is done before adopting them out, I think Rabies has to wait until 14 weeks old? Not positive. Rabies has to be done by a vet. Kittens that have a mother shouldn't be adopted out until 12/13 weeks anyway, so waiting for Rabies shot makes sense. 🧵+
The rescue will adopt them out before the FVRCP schedule is finished but if adopted before FVRCP is finished, the adopter must agree to bring them in to finish the cycle (for free). 🧵+
Once all five reach 2 pounds, then they can start their FVRCP schedule. I'm not sure when they get spayed/neutered, that's up to the rescue organization, but reading online it looks like 8 weeks / 2 pounds is the minimum. 🧵+
Their eyes started changing color yesterday and today, all five look like they will have the same yellow eyes their mom has. They'll be 8 weeks old in two days. Still nursing but not as much, Sully is definitely weaning them. 🧵+

I am relieved because I think when the other resident cats see Thing One is friends with Sully, they may feel less need to be aggressive towards her. When I first brought Shoshana home, Pip did not like her one bit but now they are best friends, so I'm confident it will all work out. /end 🧵
Some of the other resident cats, if I bring them in they immediate start growling and hissing, I'm trying to slowly socialize them as Sully and Star will likely live her for awhile, but "Thing One" had no interest in aggression and actually likes the Kittens so Sully quickly made friends with him.🧵+
